Comment on the March 29 prediction: Prices broke through $4 to $4.19 on Monday, so the prediction was CORRECT.
Sunday, March 29, 2026, 7 PM: Despite a lot of ups-and-downs last week, overall oil and gas futures look similar this weekend to where we were a week ago, when we reset to $4.19. While I have seen gas prices back in the $3.90’s driving around this weekend, I was surprised that in Lowell on Saturday morning, usually a spot of a bit of gas war, all the stations were at $4.19. Did they go down last week and then followed with a quiet reset on Saturday? Adding to the confusion, the Speedway in Ada had $4.19 posted around 5 PM, and then dropped the price more than 20 cents, to $3.98, by 7 PM. Meanwhile, I see oil futures trading has opened higher, again, here on Sunday evening.
Put it all together, and my crystal ball is rather cloudy when it comes to the next several days. Definitely grab gas under $4 when you can, and it might stay under $4 through the week. Developments in the Middle East may provide clarity by mid-week. -EA
