Monday, April 13, 2026, 3 PM: Sometimes for my posts, I skip a week because I have things going on at home, or I just don’t have anything useful to say when it comes to gas price predictions. I have felt that way for two weeks now, with daily news on the war in Iran causing oil and stock markets to bounce around. Is the Strait open? Closed? What is the price of oil doing? Will it affect gas prices?
The best I can tell this afternoon, the 0-cent margin price is somewhere around $3.79. That suggests if there is a price reset, we will go back to $4.19. That’s an “if”, and with a lot of $3.99’s around, it is not obvious that a hike is imminent. So, again, no prediction, other than to definitely grab gas under $4 when you can. -EA

Indiana isn’t charging sales tax on gas for a month after our governor decided to wave the tax to help with rising fuel cost. 7% sales tax less at the pump.
