Looking Quiet Heading into Memorial Day Weekend

Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 4PM: After my May 15 posting, those $4.49’s became $4.59’s in Michigan. Since then, wholesale prices have been stable, and retail prices haven’t moved much. So, I predict we’ll be dealing with slowly dropping prices through the Memorial Day weekend. No sign of a hike, and not a lot of interest in gas price wars right now. -EA

  1. NYMEX futures up around 20c the last 2 days and CBOB seems to be riding that wave. Even worse for Chicagoland, RBOB spot is now 40c over CBOB. Expect Speedway to grin and bear it for the holiday weekend, but head for $5.35 here by Tuesday.

  2. $5.29 in NW Indiana lead by Family Express. LaPorte County gets the “$4.89” price.

  3. Michigan appears to be moving to 4.69-4.79
