Comment on the June 7 prediction: I don’t know. In west Michigan, some stations rose to $2.19, some did not. So 1/2 CORRECT, 1/2 WRONG?
Monday, June 22, 2020, 8PM: The stars are aligning for a hike to $2.19 or higher. Oil is now over $40 a barrel, which is nudging wholesale gas prices higher. And, there are some hints that the Game is afoot, again, with penny price drops here and there, and a gas price war in Rockford — $1.83! Nevertheless, I suggest you fill up tonight, or tomorrow morning. -EA
Going up to $2.39 in northeast IL, although by my calculations Speedway’s preferred price should be $2.55 so this cold be a 2 step affair
SW Ohio started spiking yesterday at $2.259. That’s two spikes in four days.
Nice to see Big Red is back to charging the sw Ohio surcharge again. $2.199 in Ohio but $2.259 in the sw corner of the state.
South Bend IN – Family Express going to $2.29, was ~ $2.09. SBN avg $2.02.
Time to visit Costco for $1.88.
Niles MI is holding at $2.03-$2.05 for now.
Looks like $2.19 is the new standard in east Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti.
South Bend IN – Only the 3 Family Express & 1 Phillips 66 has gone up to $2.29 so far here since yesterday. I also don’t trust the Phillips 66 post as it was done by Buddy_f4akty0r whatever that is.
Coscto down to $1.84
Niles MI – Both Admiral & Phillips 66 have gone up to $2.19, others no change.
Oil down almost 6% today. I’m sure they’ll leave the spike in place
Trying to decide, but it appears the late week spike just may be failing around Fort Wayne anyways. Several still at $2.19, but many back down to $2.04, $2.06, even a few $1.99s. Let us see what tomorrow or Wednesday brings us though….
Would be pretty surprised NOT to see a hike to start the week in Chicagoland. Speedway average is $2.28-.2.29 while my price hike target calculates to $2.569.
In SW Ohio Gas Buddy is reporting a price spike of $2.259 in the area and they say current average is $2.05.
The problem is, $2.259 is what it has been the last couple weeks plus there hasn’t been that many area stations at or below their $2.05 average. The average actually started out the day right around $2.22.
Well anyway, in an attempt to never let a good spike go to waste, several of the stations ramped their price up to $2.299.
We get the sw Ohio premium again. $2.299 instead of the $2.259 the rest of Ohio got.
I thought we did away with the special blend for sw Ohio…….
Late, and lower than expected again in Chicagoland at $2.459 late Tuesday
Up to 2.25 in the Grand Rapids area this evening. I guess might have expected 2.29?
Indy area also hiked to $2.259 yesterday afternoon
