Comment on the September 5 posting: We saw prices reset to $3.79 on September 7, and the posting was trying to have it both ways: (1) there was a case for $3.79 and a case for no reset. As I wrote that day, pricing has been just weird lately.
Tuesday, September 20, 2022, 11AM: Wholesale oil and gas prices have been stable since the price reset on September 7, and retail prices haven’t moved much. Gas is in the $3.50’s in Wyoming, but some stations haven’t budged from $3.79 in the past two weeks. We’ve been having trouble with our Chicago data, but this tweet suggests we have some short-term issues, and I am seeing some $3.89’s on GasBuddy this morning. Must be time to fill the tank, just to be safe. -EA

Speedway hike to $3.899 in Indy area.
KC…$3.99 in CHicagoland vs $3.89 Indy makes me fell better given the tax differences on the fuel. I did top off at $3.46 last night though.
Got a fill up yesterday. $3.49 Muncie, Indiana. Noticing $3.89 popping up in the area.
GPM Stations moved to 3.89 Sunday, they are trying to run the Michigan market now that SEI is slower to move Speedway.
Reset to $3.499 in the Toledo area, probably yesterday, since the old GREEDWay prices aren’t showing on the app.
Fire at the Toledo BP refinery yesterday. It is shut down.

It’ll be interesting to see how this affects prices. I believe that a significant portion of the production at either that refinery, or the second one in the area, goes to Detroit Metro Airport for fuel use.
South Bend IN – Family Express & Speedway spike to $3.89, was about $3.55. Time to visit Costco for $3.29.

DTN reports another 15c rise in CBOB spot today. looks like 34c over 2 days.
If using NYEMEX RBOB trends for Great Lakes gas predictions, forget that for now

Chicago spot trading will move to 13.5psi RVP cycle one October pipeline
timing and indexing against the November RBOB contract on Monday (9/26), with
the bid/ask talked in a 45cts/75cts spread above November futures.”

Jim – I think your report has some good information as today’s $4.39 jump up in NW Indiana (led by Family Express) is 50 cents higher than the one two days ago.
Now $3.699 in the Toledo area! ?????
