One of those “Tension in the Middle East” Price Hikes Coming

Comment on the February 8 prediction: Prices rose to $3.19 the next day, so the prediction was CORRECT.

Sunday, February 22, 2026, 3 PM: President Trump’s saber-rattling about Iran’s nuclear program has contributed to an uptick in oil prices over the past week, and that is starting to affect wholesale gas prices in a way that isn’t friendly. It appears we are back to where we were two weeks ago, and with prices in the $2.60’s – $2.90’s in west Michigan, I predict we will see $3.19 or higher again this week. I filled up today in Walker, MI, for $2.65. -EA

  1. Ohio’s Speedway hike late last week fizzled out. Kind of hard, when Wawa is chillin’ at $2.319. Fully expect another attempt in the next few days.

  2. Loving the “Casey’s effect”. Caseys never went up in Wyoming, Michigan so J&H and Shell had to match them back down to 277.

  3. Sportrac…
I tried using and got a locked price. (40c below the just hike price) But then you have to pay through the Speedway app at the pump. I don’t want my cc cards #s any way there already are not.

  4. Price Spike in SW Ohio to $3.199. Seeing it on Shell station. The Shell nearest to me on Cincinnati’s West Side was $2.569 this morning. That’s a 63 cent hike. Holy Moley!
