Comment on the November 22 prediction: Pretty much CORRECT, as $1.70’s in certain Big Ten states like Ohio and Indiana went to $1.99, but no system-wide hike. Michigan prices continued to slip through Thanksgiving week.
Sunday, November 29, 2020, Noon: Last year, we saw a significant price reset the Monday after Thanksgiving, and we are set up to repeat. Oil prices continued their fall rally last week, and gas prices probably would have followed except that this is usually the time of the year of cheapest gas prices. I think the stations are going to balance their books this week, probably Monday, with a 0-cent margin price in the $1.90’s right now. That probably gets us back to the neighborhood of $2.15. -EA
$2.09 in Grand Rapids today
$2.159 in Ohio.
We got ours a day early at $2.25. 2 Monday hikes sandwiching Thanksgiving. And of course Spot closed well down (6c for Chicago RFG) today so it seems to be another case of Speedway locking in extra profits with a well timed hike. Oh well, the Speedway game only has a few months left to go. But I will miss it.
$2.099 in Indy area
Fort Wayne area hanging in the mid $1.80s still…Noticed lots of $2.09s through the central part of the state though.
Another epic FAIL of a spike. $1.8×9’s all over the place in sw Ohio.
