Garden Variety Hike for Flag Day

Comment on the June 3 prediction: CORRECT as written, as prices rose to $3.09.

Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 7:30PM: Wholesale prices have been pretty steady since the last hike, but retail prices have given up the reset and we are almost back in price hike territory, with prices $2.85 and below in several places in the area. Expect to see somewhere between $3.05 and $3.09 the next two days. -EA

  1. Indianapolis is spiking today to $3. Who needs to wait until Flag Day!

  2. 3.09 Kazoo area

  3. Prices dipped below $2.70 yesterday in SW Ohio, a fairly healthy drop. So I’m waiting for GREEDway to pull the trigger today.

  4. Filled up last night in Pendleton for $2.38. It ONLY went up .50 cents this morning to $2.88

  5. $3.15 in SE MI. Maintaining the .35 margin.

  6. Lowball hike in Chicagoland for some reason, spread over 24 hours or so. $3.09 vs a $3.29 hike two weeks ago.

  7. spike due in Ohio..lots of 2.59 and below rapidly arriving today..2.79-2.85 coming in next few days. everything is topped off tonight in anticipation

  8. Here’s the response you get from Speedway if you complain. (Back on June 6 I couldn’t take it anymore and complained about their 26 cent profit margin BEFORE the spike):

    Hello Jeff,

When it comes to the price of fuel, each Speedway location is unique, impacted by the local competition and area fuel cost factors. Speedway, and other retailers, may be impacted by any of the following: crude oil costs, refining crude to usable fuel costs, transportation of fuel, state and federal taxes/regulations as well as how close the location is to supply channels. Local competition, as well as changes to the fuel markets (supply and demand), influence the price at the pump.

    Thank you,

    Miranda?

  9. What’s going on in Hudsonville, Michigan prices at several stations at $2.66/gal a gallon. Is it the new Meijer gas Station in Hudsonville and everybody’s matching them?

  10. Crude is up nearly 5% today and spot gas climbed past $1.96. The AP headline reads “ OPEC countries to pump more oil to contain price increases “.

They’re off to a great start! Increasing production is increasing prices lol
