We are seeing prices crossing the spike line again, which means we should see a price increase soon. Tuesday is a traditional day, so it is my guess it will come tomorrow. Fill up before prices go up!

10:21 a.m. Tuesday
We’re good for today. Tomorrow should be a lock for prices to go up. New York gasoline futures are up another 2.41¢ this morning to $2.7831.
Current averages:
$3.486 – Michigan (lowest $3.289 in Port Huron and Marysville)
$3.470 – Kalamazoo (lowest $3.379 on Gull Rd. and in Parchment)
$3.464 – Grand Rapids (lowest $3.399 at many locations)
$3.452 – Indiana ($3.159 in Seymour, state’s lowest)
$3.369 – Ohio ($3.039 at Kroger in Centerville, state’s lowest)
$3.339 – USA
The Spike Line calculation for Michigan screwed up again. It should be $3.48378 with a .222¢ differential. You have it as $3.4113 with an 8.87¢ differential. The calculations for Indiana, Ohio, and Indianapolis are all presumably correct, as they all show -4 to -6¢ differentials.
On the E-85 front, AAA’s national average is up 3¢ to $3.026 since my post on Friday. Over the past week, AAA’s national E-85 average is up 8.1¢. However, AAA’s national average for regular unleaded gasoline, E-10, is up 9.3¢ over the past week, so the increase in E-85 is apparently not directly related to the elimination of the ethanol subsidy.
