Tuesday, July 10, 3:55 PM: I got an e-mail late yesterday afternoon from a retailer in Ohio saying that his wholesale price jumped 30 cents yesterday. I didn’t know whether to believe him or not. However, we have a second price hike to $3.39 this afternoon, my colleague Patrick tells me that a key refinery in Indiana is going down, and today’s AXXIS quote has Chicago wholesale at a whopping $2.81 versus $2.57 yesterday. So, it looks like the retailer from Ohio was correct, and we might be in for *another* price hike this week. I’m not going to call this an official prediction, but keep your eyes on those prices while driving.

Note: To be precise, add 9/10 of a cent to all prices described on this web page.
