A gas price hike to 3.09-3.15 is NOW PROBABLE either tomorrow or Thursday as I informed you already yesterday.
I got an e-mail confirming my thoughts from an industry insider, who had this to say in an e-mail to me:
“I am in the industry, and wanted to let you know that
wholesale unleaded prices went up tonight. The
unleaded cost is approximately $2.40-$2.42 before
taxes, or a $2.96 breakeven with taxes…”
I filled up tonight for 2.99 in Jenison (actually, it was 2.84 after my discount!)
I would suggest filling up either tonight yet or EARLY tomorrow morning. Gas stations are losing money and will be quick to raise prices!
This hike is due to ongoing tension in the Middle East, Irans UNCOOPERATION with the U.N., and Tropical Storm Chris, which MAY pose a threat to Virgin Island refineries.
Fill ‘er up!
