Which road will we take this week on the gas price journey?

Comment on the April 3 prediction: Pretty much CORRECT, as prices continued to slowly slide all last week.

Sunday, April 10, 2022, Noon: Oil remained under $100/barrel last week, keeping a lid on wholesale gas prices, and it appears from my calculations and current prices in places like Allendale that we have a floor of about $3.75 right now. (That $3.59 in Cedar Springs is nice bargain today!) We are still sitting above $4.09 downtown, though.

What’s next? We are vulnerable to a hike to $4.09 if we see an uptick in oil prices early in the week. But, if we don’t, I can see more stations dropping their prices below $3.80. So, keep an eye on oil prices the next few days. -EA

  1. 15 cent jump in RBOB this morning. Guess our journey will be up.

  2. Up another 13 cents today. To the moon, Alice!

  3. Looks like I will be topping off at the Sharonville UDF at $3.389 before it zooms up about 50 cents.

  4. Just got half a tank at a Shell in west Toledo for $3.599/gal. plus the Shell Rewards discount of $0.08/gal. I’ll take it, as prices in my area just south of Toledo are still in the $3.959+ region. Pleasant surprise!

I’m sure that GREEDway, et. al., will use the Easter weekend as an excuse to jack everything up to, say, $4.099 tomorrow across the board in Northwest Ohio.

  5. Up 8 more today. 35-40 cents since Tuesday morning. It’s gonna hurt.

  6. I’m really really surprised NW Indiana did not increase today. Lots of stations are going to be selling in the red.

  7. Would be shocked not to see a big hike tomorrow in NE IL. Some Shell & Caseys jumped to $4.49 today. My #s show Speedway should go to $4.59. The one near me is presently 57c under that!

  8. Family Express up to $4.29 this morning in NW Indiana.

  9. Up 8 more cents in early morning trading today.

  10. Correction…At $3.92 Speedways is 67c below where they will soon want to be.

  11. South Bend IN – Family Express and some followers up to $4.19 today.
    Costco $3.63, Admiral $3.69
    SBN avg 3.893

Niles MI Admiral & WMT $3.63, no spikes on the other side of the state line yet.

  12. GPM Stations are beginning the move to 3.89 in Northern Michigan. They seem to be the new leader since the Speedway sale.
