Sunday, May 2, 2021, 5PM: We have a rare and slow-motion Sunday hike in progress, to $2.99. If only I had posted this morning, because a hike like that was obvious, given the jump in wholesale prices late last week. I saw a $2.99 in Cedar Springs around 11AM this morning, and now it looks like Sparta and Lowell have gotten the bug. More are coming. So, go out and fill up for $2.59-$2.69 this evening, if you can find it. -EA

The name of the site is based off an essay Ed wrote for the Grand Rapids Press titled "The Gas Game". The current website was established later by Patrick DeHaan after he and Ed predicted gas price hikes on GasBuddy's website GrandRapidsGasPrices.com, as well as Ed’s personal web page.
Note: To be precise, add 9/10 of a cent to all prices described on this web page.

Most of my local stations in Lansing were still in the $2.60s-$2.70s last night, but it looks like everyone is heading to 2.99 today. I pulled the trigger a few days early and used a 30 cent Kroger discount, but I guess that beats not pulling it at all. My job is still 100% remote, so it actually feels kinda weird to buy gas.
Filled up at $2.61 yesterday Noon in east Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti just a bit before the reset to $2.99. A friend in Lansing was filling up at $2.60 when the sign flipped to the higher price.
