What the Easter Bunny Brought Us

Comment on the March 24 prediction: Prices did rise, but not until Sunday(!), to $2.89. So, technically, I was WRONG.

Sunday, April 4, 2021, Noon: It is Easter Sunday (unless you are Christian Orthodox, like me, with a late Easter this year), and let’s see what the Easter Bunny has brought us. Gas prices have risen from below $2 a gallon in mid-September to close to $3 today, following a 50% surge in oil prices. (Remember that day when oil prices were negative?) For the most part, the price climb reflects improving world economic conditions (2021 projections here). It looks like oil prices are bubbling a bit more right now, so there is a good chance we hit the magic $2.999 this week. I will be looking for an opportunity early in the week to top off the tank, maybe along the Alpine-Sparta corridor. -EA
