Comment on last Saturday’s prediction: Prices rose last Monday to $3.23, just as CORRECTly predicted.
Sunday, December 2, 2007, 9:30 AM: A nice drop in wholesale prices the past week puts the range of prices, based on wholesale prices, $2.89 to $3.09. But, some retailers have maintained prices above $3.20 since Monday, so drive past them to find someone below $3.09. Looking ahead to this week, because of the recent wholesale drops, retail prices should continue to fall, and are already below $3 in a few places. I predict no price hike at least through Wednesday. Historically, the lowest prices of the winter season occur a week before Christmas, so I am optimistic about the next two weeks.
