Monday, May 18, 2009, 8:45 PM: I just updated my spreadsheets, and NYMEX gas prices were up 7 cents today. The new 20-cent margin price is $2.49. There’s definitely a price hike coming, tomorrow or Wednesday, to something above $2.39.

The name of the site is based off an essay Ed wrote for the Grand Rapids Press titled "The Gas Game". The current website was established later by Patrick DeHaan after he and Ed predicted gas price hikes on GasBuddy's website GrandRapidsGasPrices.com, as well as Ed’s personal web page.

Speedway on the loose!! Ada station at $2.39 at 8:30 this morning, (Tues.) – spiked to $2.49 at 9:00am. I filled at Forest Hills Fuel for $2.26
Wish I had seen this yesterday! I would have filled the half-tank for $2.32 this morning. This afternoon, it’s $2.48. 🙁
