Another hike on the way?

Comment on the November 22 prediction:  It was an easy one, as prices rose the next day.  Then, after Thanksgiving, they fell again.  Nevertheless, CORRECT.

Thursday, December 2, 2010, 9:30PM:  I wasn’t ready for Tuesday’s price hike, but now I am concerned that we’ll see another hike shortly.  Wholesale prices shot up 10 cents yesterday, as did the Dow.  (See this chart.)  We could see $3.09 again, like we did last month.  Let’s call that a prediction. – Ed Aboufadel

  1. I’m not 100% sure it will happen tomorrow, but I agree with Ed. If the market doesn’t ease off, we will get a spike in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, possibly early next week. Other areas we don’t cover like Kentucky, West Virginia and Illinois could as well.

I don’t think it will tomorrow, simply because of history. Historically we don’t see a spike twice in one week. I don’t think the upward pressure of the market is enough to make them jump twice at this time.

PS. Speedway SuperAmerica in Minnesota will soon be no more. Marathon sold all stations to Turkey Hill. You can no longer go to the Speedway website to see prices there, either. Congrats, Minnesota!

  2. 12/7 – oil at just over $90 a barrel this morning, so I’M going to predict a probable price hike, just because they can and because that will be the reason – LOL!!
