READ! .03/gal discount for Speedy Rewards members… rewards system isn’t as rewarding after May 1!

Perhaps to counter the negative sentiment as they shift to a new rewards program schedule, Speedway has announced in an e-mail that they’re “rolling back the pump price” for Speedy Rewards members on Saturday or Sunday (May 2 and 3). The offer ONLY applies to gasoline, and is not valid in Wisconsin or West Virginia.
You MUST bring your card, either the key size card or the full card. Swipe the card at the pump and receive 3-cents off per gallon! This is almost as good as their 5-cent discount when they initially came out with the Rewards system.
There is a disclaimer to this offer.
While it won’t counter their terrible changes to the reward system, it will be a nice way to part with Speedway… a “going away” party if you will.
Take it while it lasts and fill up the gas cans for the summer!

While Speedway’s rewards disappear, I am glad I have a Shell Mastercard Card. I drive a Subaru WRX that needs Premium, and at many Shell stations there is a Tuesday discount of 6 cents/gal. on Premium gas. On top of that, their credit card saves me 5% at Shell, which was worth 20 cents/gal. when gas was four bucks. Nowadays it keeps the premium my car needs at about the price of regular. Not a bad deal. Great $2 car wash at Fuller & Knapp, too.
Ken, thanks for the feedback. I know Shell used to do that discount a while back but was completely unaware it still existed! Do you know what locations around town have the discount?
I too have the Shell card and save 5%. Have had it for years. It applies to ALL Shell locations. I always seek out Shell stations and enjoy the savings.
How convenient.. speedway is going to give us a 3 cent discount this weekend.. and promptly bumps the price up 10 to 25 cents across the state.
Gotta love that.
