Why does the government not require higher levels of stockpile for gasoline or update our disribution system? We are seeing spotted shortages in large cities yet the nearby suburbs have enough. We also now that come September/October we will see a hurricane or two of category 3, 4, or 5 sweep through the Gulf and disrupting our supply. This seems like it would impact national security, yet nothing is done. It is mindboggling.

I had to be in Lansing yesterday - I paid $3.51/gallon of regular unleaded. In Flint, the price was $3.35/gallon and in Lowell, it was $3.69/gallon. In Rockford??? $3.79/gallon. The prices may continue to fall, but I sure as heck can't tell when I look out my window.
