Prediction: Price hike this week

Monday, September 18, 2006, 9:00 AM:  Yeah, there’s a price hike coming this week.  With prices down to $2.14 at Knapp’s Corners, look for the stations to reset to somewhere around $2.32.  It might even be today.

Gas prices $1.96? Not here. Hike soon? Perhaps.

Hello everyone!
Wow! $1.96 in Columbus, Ohio. Pretty good deal, but remember that Speedway/Marathon is headquartered in Ohio… lucky them. If gasoline didn’t varnish so fast, I’d LOVE to go down there, pump 1,000 gallons, and store them.
Since I’m “smart”, I KNOW that you all have been enjoying the last month of sliding prices.
Pretty impressive. A [...]

Lower into the weekend, cautious about next week

Friday, September 15, 2006, 11:45 AM:  When NYMEX prices continue to go lower, you just sit back and watch retail prices follow.  Based on current prices, I estimate the 0-cent margin price to be $2.10 and the 20-cent margin price to be $2.31.  Low price in town at the moment is $2.18, so we have [...]

Friday, September 8, 2006, 2:15 PM: Since my post on Labor Day, wholesale price have fallen another 11 cents, so, of course there was no price hike. Instead, [...]

Just thought with today’s DOE report, I’d let you know how things are looking.
The DOE report was much better than traders or I thought it would be (Labor Day didn’t kill inventories), [...]

A few comments (Ed’s Prediction is below this)

NYMEX is open right now, until later this evening, when a HALT will be implemented.
Gasoline futures are down to 1.70 at this moment, which, at least in the spring of 05, brought us a retail gas hike to 2.43. (I was interviewed when this happened in Spring 05, and in the interview, my computer screen [...]
