For those of you playing at home, you may have noticed that the price hikes have not been as large as the 20-cent margin prices suggests. It appears that we have a Chicago-region discount to the New York prices, and this happened last March, too. The discount disappeared by the end of March, and I have no reason to expect any different this year. Wholesale prices haven’t changed since a week ago, but retail prices haven’t dropped much since last Thursday, so, for now, I’m predicting no price hike this week. 24 hours later, I took that prediction back.
